## Long description

The Bosch HSS PointTeQ Twist Drill Bit 8mm is a high-performance accessory engineered for precise and efficient drilling in various metal materials. Designed with a specialized PointTeQ tip, this twist drill bit ensures fast drilling starts with minimal heat generation and reduced wear. It is suitable for both professional tradespeople and DIY enthusiasts seeking reliable results when working with metals.
Advantages
The innovative PointTeQ tip design allows the drill bit to self-center easily, preventing wandering and eliminating the need for pre-punching or pilot drilling. This geometry significantly accelerates drilling progress while minimizing friction, which extends the overall lifespan of the bit. The black oxide coated flute ensures quick chip removal and provides additional resistance to wear and tear during intensive tasks.
Suitable for
Drilling in alloyed and unalloyed steel
Working with cast iron and non-ferrous metals
Drilling sheet metal and metal profiles
Professional workshop tasks and home DIY metalworking projects
When it may not be suitable
This drill bit is not optimized for masonry, concrete, or extensive wood drilling applications, where specialized bits would perform better. It is also not recommended for high-alloy stainless steel without the use of appropriate cooling lubricants.
Key specifications
Diameter: 8mm
Material: High-Speed Steel (HSS)
Tip design: PointTeQ
Application material: Metal, steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals
How to use
Insert the 8mm drill bit securely into the chuck of your rotary drill or drill press, ensuring it is properly aligned. Mark your drilling spot and apply steady, moderate pressure while maintaining a recommended drilling speed suited for metal. Use cutting oil or a suitable cooling lubricant when working with harder metals to prolong the bit life and maintain drilling precision.
What to consider before purchase
Verify that an 8mm diameter matches your specific fastener or hole size requirements
Ensure your power tool is compatible with cylindrical shank drill bits
Consider acquiring cutting fluid if you plan to drill extensively in hard metals
Usage recommendations: Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, when drilling metal. Secure your workpiece firmly with a clamp or vise before starting the drill to prevent spinning or sudden movement.
