TV tuner Opticum T-BOX (DVB‑T2, HEVC, HbbTV)

The Opticum T-BOX is a compact external TV tuner designed to receive digital terrestrial broadcasts using DVB‑T2 and to decode HEVC (H.265) video. It provides access to free-to-air channels, electronic program guides and basic playback features. The device also supports HbbTV hybrid services, enabling access to interactive broadcaster content and on-demand services on compatible networks. The Opticum T-BOX is suitable for upgrading televisions that lack built-in DVB‑T2 or HEVC support or for adding HbbTV functionality to a secondary display.

Advantages

The tuner offers reliable DVB‑T2 reception with HEVC decoding in a compact, easy-to-install form factor. HbbTV support expands available content by combining broadcast TV with broadband applications where supported by broadcasters. The unit provides simple access to program guides and basic playback controls, and its small footprint makes it unobtrusive when connected to a TV set.

Suitable for

• Upgrading older TVs to receive DVB‑T2 broadcasts with HEVC decoding
• Adding HbbTV functionality to displays without built-in hybrid TV support
• Secondary or portable TV setups where a compact external tuner is required
• Viewing free-to-air digital terrestrial channels and electronic program guides

How to use

Connect the Opticum T-BOX to the television using the appropriate output (typically HDMI) and attach an antenna suitable for terrestrial reception. Follow the on-screen setup to scan for available digital terrestrial channels and configure language or regional settings if prompted. Use the tuner’s menu and program guide to select channels, schedule recordings if supported by the unit, and access HbbTV services where broadcasters provide hybrid content. Basic playback controls allow you to pause, resume, or navigate available media when supported.

Usage recommendations

For optimal reception, place the antenna in a location with a clear line of sight to the nearest broadcast transmitter and minimize obstacles. Ensure your TV input and cables support the tuner’s video output format. If HbbTV content is not visible, verify network connectivity and that broadcasters in your area offer HbbTV services.
