Transcend's M.2 SATA III 425S SSD in a compact 42mm form factor provides 250 GB of storage using high-quality 3D NAND flash. Designed for Ultrabooks and lightweight notebooks, this M.2 SSD combines SATA III 6Gb/s interface and firmware optimizations — including SLC caching and LDPC ECC — to improve performance, storage reliability and drive lifespan.
The Transcend 250 GB M.2 SATA III 425S delivers sequential read speeds up to 500 MB/s and write speeds up to 330 MB/s, plus up to 75,000 IOPS for 4K random read/write. Its low profile (42 mm) and small weight make it suitable for thin laptops while built-in features such as RAID engine, LDPC error correction, garbage collection, wear-leveling and DevSleep improve data integrity, endurance and power efficiency. Transcend SSD Scope software enables monitoring and maintenance of the drive.
Power off the laptop and consult the device manual to locate the M.2 slot. Remove any existing M.2 module if present, insert the Transcend M.2 SATA III 425S module into the M.2 socket at a slight angle, press it down and secure it with the mounting screw. Reassemble the device, power it on and initialize the drive in the operating system. Install the Transcend SSD Scope software to check firmware, monitor health and run maintenance tasks.
For best results, ensure the laptop BIOS is set to AHCI mode, back up important data before cloning or formatting, and update the SSD firmware via Transcend SSD Scope when updates are available. Use DevSleep-aware systems to benefit from improved power savings.
